An exclusive yet homely villa
When Robert Svardal-Stelmer, his wife and children moved into a spacious villa in Gentofte, they sought help in creating a cohesive aesthetic across the many square metres. They dreamed of a home designed to complement the luxurious framework of the house – yet with a relaxed, personal and homely atmosphere. A place where tranquillity, comfort and aesthetics could go hand in hand.
With a desire for a subdued, Scandinavian colour palette and a home defined by open spaces, clean lines and natural light, Slettvoll’s interior architects were invited into the process. Together, they have created a refined and timeless interior, where every square metre has been thoughtfully utilised. The result is a harmonious home where furnishings and materials blend seamlessly with the architecture – allowing the house to come fully into its own.
In the living room, a calm and inviting atmosphere has been created with the asymmetrical Maddox sofa, which elegantly embraces the Bilbao coffee table. The interior supports the desire for a comfortable and relaxed gathering point for the whole family. Although the sofa is spacious, its light upholstery allows it to appear airy and naturally integrated into the room.
The living room is completed by two Bond pouffes and the refined Chevely console table. The Bond pouffes’ elegant cross legs add character and lightness, while maintaining a discreet presence in the interior. The console table serves perfectly as a base for a modern still life – and with its concealed wheels, it can easily be moved as needed.
The vision for the home was clear from the outset: it should be a place with room for the family, and room for the children – a home that accommodates both play and peace. At the same time, it should be a place where guests, friends and colleagues can easily be welcomed.
In the lounge, the East armchairs, with their distinctive curved backs, form a naturally defined zone with the Zuna coffee table at the centre. The lounge invites moments of togetherness by the fireplace, while the view towards the staircase and surrounding rooms enhances the sense of cohesion. It has become a gathering place for close family – a space to unwind and simply be together.
In the dining room, a dark, oval dining table anchors the space. It is surrounded by Stella dining chairs, whose simple design language and open silhouette create a light and elegant atmosphere. The oval rug, Earth, accentuates the shape of the table and creates a beautiful balance between the light and dark materials in the room.
From the dining room, doors lead out to the garden, where a generous terrace serves as a natural extension of the interior. Here, several zones have been created – some for relaxation, others for socialising. The terrace is furnished with the stylish Marty range, characterised by its soft lines and clean, elegant details. Here too, there is a clear sense of a cohesive aesthetic, where function and form go hand in hand. The outdoor design reflects the same balance found throughout the home – a space that embraces both beauty and room for the entire family.
With the help of Slettvoll, an interior concept was created that encompasses both indoor and outdoor spaces. The result is a home with a consistent style and a calm, holistic expression – an oasis where every detail is carefully considered, and where comfort and aesthetics merge in perfect balance.
