Kwahu basket
Kwahu is a handmade basket crafted from elephant grass. The basket is produced in collaboration with Sabona Trust – an aid organization that primarily supports grassroots projects in Zimbabwe. Kwahu is a "Bolga basket," typically made in Ghana, where the weaving technique and craftsmanship have been passed down from mother to daughter for generations. In this context, Sabona Trust has expanded its project area with the same vision as in Zimbabwe, where the local population owns their own projects and the goal is self-help. This initiative has now been extended to Ghana, allowing us, in collaboration with Sabona Trust, to include this unique basket in our collection.
