Mossi sculpture
Mossi is a wooden sculpture originating from the Mossi people of Burkina Faso, where it was traditionally used as a “doll.” Young women and children carried it on their backs and were responsible for its care. These dolls are commonly called “Biga” in Mossi culture. The decor is made from acacia wood and comes in two sizes.
